Optimus has designed many out-patient clinics for hospitals and not-for-profit healthcare organizations. ODA Primary Healthcare Center is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, and a federally qualified health center certified under Article 28 of the New York State Public Health Law.
ODA retained us to design their new family health center on Park Avenue, Brooklyn, NY in a new building under construction. ODA completed a schematic design with another healthcare architect, but sought us out for our warm, healing and upscale healthcare interiors. We took the schematic design and reworked it to comply more effectively with healthcodes and HC accessibility. ODA serves an orthodox Jewish community with customs and practices that required careful understanding and attention. Optimus has worked effectively with a wide variety of client and ethnic groups, listening to their needs rather than imposing our preferences. Our architects and interior designers created a project that met and exceeded all of ODA’s expectations. Our construction phase services were particularly important to this project as the Owner had two construction agreements, one with the building developer and one with a separate interior fit-up contractor. Optimus played an important role in mediating and coordinating the two contractors, as well as, maintaining high construction standards with contractors less experienced with healthcare projects.
