Green Medical Arts Building Nears Completion

Columbia Memorial Hospital (CMH) retained Optimus in 2012 to address a series of renovation projects at the Greene Medical Arts (GMA) building in Catskill, NY. This 130,000 sf, three story plus basement facility was formerly the Catskill hospital in a two city hospital system known as Columbia-Greene Hospital, before Columbia Memorial Hospital consolidated all services at their Hudson, NY campus.  At that time, the Catskill facility was sold for use as a private multi-tenant out-patient and physician practice healthcare facility.

Over the years, CMH has slowly established itself as the primary tenant with a series of new out-patient diagnostic and treatment facilities.  Since 2012, Optimus has been designing both new interior construction and renovations for D&T facilities for Columbia Memorial.  As it became apparent that CMH was developing a greater investment in the GMA facility, CMH considered acquiring the Catskill campus.  At that point, Optimus was retained to develop an existing conditions report with MEP engineering support to determine the degree of maintenance and reconditioning work necessary to bring the facility up to present day standards with approximate budgets.  CMH has subsequently acquired the facility and continues with our assistance to address maintenance and improvement projects, along with interior fit-up projects for new out-patient clinical services.

Optimus has provided services for Primary Care, Family Medicine, Blood Draw, Orthopedics, Xray, MRI, Wound Care (planning only), exterior wall restorations, as well as our existing conditions study.
