Optimus Architecture, established in 1992 and based in Rhinebeck, NY, is a leading architectural firm in healthcare design—we handle projects in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Vermont.

Our portfolio includes various healthcare projects, from hospital modifications to new and renovated treatment centers, Article 28 clinics, laboratories, pharmacies, and medical offices. Our extensive experience with healthcare codes and regulations allows us to accelerate the approval process of our clients’ projects with regulatory agencies.

In addition to healthcare projects, we have also designed municipal, commercial, and residential projects. Following our company’s slogan “For Your Optimum Design Solution,” our designs are inspired, comfortable, and functional, creating aesthetically pleasing and practical buildings.

    Principal | Lead Architect
    Dan became the principal and owner of Optimus Architecture in 2018 after twelve years with the firm. With his knowledge of healthcare environments, design concepts, and codes and regulations, he has earned the respect and confidence of clients, consultants, regulatory agencies, and contractors. Dan earned a Master of Architecture from the University of Buffalo and is licensed to practice in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Vermont.
  • Jason D. Terranova

    Project Manager
    Jason brings nearly three decades of experience to the management of client projects. His methodical approach to project management has contributed to his success in coordinating designers, engineers, owners, and contractors through project completion. With his extensive knowledge of healthcare and building codes, construction documentation, and construction phase services, Jason is an asset to our firm and our clients. He holds an associate and bachelor’s degrees in architectural technology.

    Sr. Design Drafter | Assistant Project Manager
    Justin’s passion for design and his abilities with computer-generated drawings make for a perfect combination in architecture. His detailed approach to completing construction documents assists the Optimus Architecture team in meeting designated client schedules. Additionally, Justin graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in architecture.

    Senior Interior Designer
    Kaitlynn’s creative spirit brings a fresh approach to the overall design of an interior. She considers the appropriate use of materials and stays within a client’s budget while enhancing the architectural elements of a project. Through meticulous renderings of interior specifications, she provides clients with comprehensive construction documents. Kaitlynn has extensive knowledge of space planning, merchandising, healthcare, corporate and residential design, and holds a bachelor’s degree in fine arts in interior design.

    Interior Designer
    After a short time away from the firm, Caitlyn has returned to Optimus Architecture. She has proven experience in delivering functional healthcare designs, with comfortable and attractive environments. Through thoughtful selection of materials and finishes, she works with a client’s vision to create space that is impactful while staying within a project’s budget. Caitlyn holds a bachelor of fine arts in interior design.

    Office Manager
    With various administrative roles throughout her career, Maureen has a strong background and skill set to perform the duties of an office manager. For many years, she worked in a hospital facilities department, so she is keenly aware of the needs addressed by the architectural designs of our firm. Her attention to detail and process improvement keeps the office organized and operating smoothly.
